2018 is turning out to be another incredible year with so many new attractions opening. Guests shrunk to toy size, supercharged high-speed races and mapping technology that knows no bounds. So many new reasons to visit!

New Attractions at Walt Disney World

Toy Story Land – Hollywood Studios

Guests are fully immersed in Toy Story Land as they transform into honorary toys to play in Andy’s backyard. New rides, a new eatery and larger than life characters are all be part of this whimsical and colorful land. Opened June 30th 2018.

UP! Animal Kingdom

A new show featuring Disney•Pixar’s “UP” sees Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and furry friend Dug discover species of birds from around the world. Their newest adventure takes place at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur village at Animal Kingdom. The show replaced the long running Flight of Wonder which closed on December 31st, 2017. Bird fans don’t need to worry, the new show still features up-close encounters with winged creatures. Opened April 2018.

 

Donald’s Dino Bash!

Donald Duck has found out his ancestors were actually dinosaurs and he’s celebrating in style. Join in with dance parties, meet Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Launchpad McQuack. Chip ’n Dale join in the fun in their all-new dino-inspired costumes. Opened May.


New Attractions Universal Orlando

Nighttime Lights At Hogwarts Castle

The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle in Islands of Adventure is a projection show beamed onto the castle on select nights. Check the schedule for times.

Fast & Furious Supercharged 

In Fast & Furious – Supercharged you’ll be immersed into the storyline alongside Dom, Letty, Hobbs and Roman as you become part of the Fast Family. Fast & Furious Supercharged opened in Universal Studios in May.

New Nighttime LagooN Show

Universal Orlando have a new lagoon show at Universal Studios Florida: Universal Cinematic Celebration

Voodoo Doughnut

A sweet treat arrived at City Walk. The wickedly sinful Voodoo Doughnut opened up a delicious doughnut store in May. With delights such as Bacon Maple Bar, Voodoo Doll, Voodoo Bubble, Mango Tango and Raspberry Romeo, choosing just one might prove a little difficult.


New Attractions in 2018 at SeaWorld

Infinity Falls

Navigate world-class river rapids, feel the lift on a unique vertical rise then plummet down the world’s tallest river rapid drop. The circular rafts will carry 8 riders along 1520 feet of track before plunging down the 40 foot drop. You’ll be able to rush the rapids summer 2018.

Rayrush – Aquatica

You’ll have triple the fun on this three-in-one thrill ride. First water jets will launch you 33 feet per second taking your raft from zero to awesome in an instant. Then your raft will take a twisting turn spinning the walls inside a colossal water sphere. Finally you’ll drop into open-air giant manta wings, soaring up and down different paths each time. Riders over 42″ will be able to ride Ray Rush which will accommodate up to four per raft. Now open at Aquatica.

Lego Ninjago: Master of the 4th Dimension

During a special dojo training session, you’ll be able to join your NINJAGO heroes and become part of the 4D action. You’ll need to save the whole universe from disaster as Master Wu prepares the ninjas to take on the teachings of the mysterious ‘Scroll of the 4th Dimension’. Opened January 2018.

The Great Lego Race

The Project X roller coaster got a total transformation into a new hyper-charged wild and wacky race. Riders can experience action from every angle, enhanced by optional VR headsets. The Great LEGO Race is the first ever virtual reality coaster designed specifically for kids.


New Restaurants at Disney Springs

With the recent openings of The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, Pizza Pointe and Enzo’s Hideaway, the explosion of new eateries continues. Disney Springs is rapidly becoming the menu venue of Orlando!

Now Open! Winebar George
Master Sommelier George Miliotes is bringing his expertise to Disney Springs. Shareable plates, cheese and charcuterie will complement an unparalleled wine list including more than 100 selections by the bottle and glass. Miliotes is widely regarded as one of the industry’s foremost wine experts, and is one of only 236 professionals certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Jaleo
Chef José Andrés will be bringing the spirit and flavors of Spain to West Side in Disney Springs. Jaleo will have an extensive tapas menu in a multi-level dynamic restaurant. Highlights will include authentic paellas cooked over a wood fire, Spanish specialties like hand-carved Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, wood-grilled Ibérico pork. Signature dishes will include Gambas al ajillo (shrimp sautéed with garlic and chili) and Croquetas de Pollo (classic Spanish chicken fritters). Jaleo will be a full table service restaurant with a grab and go service.

Now Open! Terralina Crafted Italian
Replacing Portobello Country Italian Trattoria, James Beard award-winning chef Tony Mantuano will transport you to a tranquil Italian escape. The restaurant’s wood-burning oven fires up a selection of artisanal, hand-tossed pizzas and fresh vegetable dishes from the Lake District of Northern Italy. There will be an open rotunda that features a rustic stone fireplace at the heart of the restaurant. You’ll also be able to enjoy a new outdoor waterside patio, a veranda bar and a glass conservatory overlooking Lake Buena Vista.

Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill
The laid back vibe Wolfgang Pucks ‘Spago’ in Los Angeles will introduce a new concept to Disney Springs. The new restaurant promises to “modernize the traditional bar and grill concept”. The menu will highlight the best of Puck’s signature dishes with Mediterranean influences, innovative takes on comfort food and handcrafted specialty cocktails.


New Attractions in 2018 Beyond the Theme Parks

Orlando Starflyer

The world’s tallest swing opened on International Drive in May. With a height of 450 feet and speeds up to 60mph, this is sure to be a huge attraction for adrenalin junkies.

Nona Adventure Park

A giant inflated aqua park is coming to Lake Nona, just south east of Orlando. Visitors will be able to walk, run, jump and bounce on floating walkways, obstacles and slides. There will also be a water-ski and wakeboard cable park. The continuous cable will enable visitors to ride at speeds up to 35 miles an hour. On dry land, there will be a 60 foot climbing tower that features ropes, walls and platforms. A bistro offering upscale food and snacks will give diners views over the cable park activities.
Nona Adventure Park is due to open summer 2018.
