Ever since 100 Years of Movie Memories ended in October 2017, we’ve been eagerly awaiting news of a replacement. And now Universal Orlando have taken the nighttime lagoon show to a whole new level. And it’s totally awesome! Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration is on select nights at Universal Studios.

See the Universal App or website for show times.

This epic cinema under the stars takes you to the heart of the movies like never before. Universal promise: “You’ll see and hear roaring dinosaurs from Jurassic World, feel the adrenaline rush of high-speed cars from Fast & Furious, watch the mischievous antics of the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me, and so much more”.

Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration:

This brand new lagoon show blends water and state-of-the-art technologies to create spectacular new special effects. The show combines an all-new storyline with full panoramic multi-layer water screens accented by pyrotechnics.

For the first time ever, more than 120 dancing fountains and projection mapping transform the waterfront and surrounding buildings. It’s a vivid celebration of epic movie moments and beloved characters. The whole ensemble will be accompanied by music from the world’s biggest films.

Witness moments from the Harry Potter series conjured by way of spells. Hear ear-shattering roars from dinosaurs in Jurassic World. Feel the adrenaline rush of speed from The Fast & the Furious. Witness mischief by the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me. Sit back and watch as even more come to across the Universal Studios Florida lagoon.

There’s an all-new, dedicated viewing area designed specifically for the show, giving prime viewing. The seating pavilion around the Central Park can seat over 6000 spectators. The show lasts around 20 minutes.

Universal Cinematic Viewing Tips:

You can see the show from other locations around the lagoon, but you lose the audio, so you really want to head to the seating area. The seating area is tiered, but try not to sit too close to the front. You lose some of the affect and there’s so much to take in. You really want to try and sit somewhere half way up, or towards the back to achieve a full view of all the elements.

You’ll now have two nighttime shows to enjoy: The all new Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration in Universal Studios Florida and The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Which one will you choose? Put us down for both!
