As the world slowly heals from Coronavirus, some of the main attractions in Orlando, Kissimmee and all around Central Florida are starting to open. We’re here to let you know What’s Open Now in Orlando & Kissimmee and what’s opening soon

You’ll find safety measures, distancing requirements, lower capacity and shorter hours.

But it’s a slow but steady start!

While we do all we can to update, we strongly advise you call wherever you are visiting or visit the website/Facebook page, to check on updated procedures and operating hours.

Here’s What’s Open Now in Orlando & Kissimmee:

Walt Disney World Opening Info:

Disney Springs

Disney Springs is open and has a wide selection of restaurants and stores operating. Many restaurants are using virtual menus and stores are using cashless payment.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Limited parking and reduced entrances
  • Temperature screening prior to entry
  • Face covering required for everyone
  • Physical distancing and capacity measures
  • Operational changes
  • Increased cleaning

Walt Disney World Opening Dates

Walt Disney World will be operating a phased opening. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom open July 11th, followed by Hollywood Studios and Epcot on July 15th. There are no dates as yet for Disney’s waterparks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

What to Expect When Disney Opens:

  • Theme Park Reservations: Disney will be launching a new reservation system to handle theme park admissions. Currently,
  • Park Hopper Tickets: Park hopping is no longer be available until further notice and you will only be able to visit one theme park on each day.
  • Limited Experiences: Due to gathering rules, any activity that does not allow physical distancing will not be available. That means fireworks, parades and character greetings. Although close up character meetings will not be available, characters will still be in the parks.
  • FastPasses: During this current phase, Fastpasses will not be available
  • Face Masks: All guests aged 2 and up will be required to wear face coverings. At this time, there are no exceptions.
  • Relaxation Zones: There will be areas in all parks where guests can take a break from wearing any kind of face covering. These locations will be the only place you will be allowed to remove face masks, unless you are eating.
  • Temperature Checks: All guests will be required to undergo temperature checks before entry will be allowed.
  • Cashless & Touchles Transactions: Mobile ordering and contactless payment will be available. Apple Pay has been added to the Disney App as a payment option, as have Disney gift cards.
  • Reduced Capacity & Ticket Limits: Due to controlled capacity, all guests will be required to purchase theme park tickets in advance with specific dates. Current ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be given priority access to make date reservations to visit. No new tickets will be sold until current ticketholders and annual passholders have made selections.

Keep in mind, all these changes are only temporary, but you can keep up to date with changes on the Disney Experiences website.

Universal Orlando Opening Info:

CityWalk at Universal

CityWalk was the first main attraction to reopen when Florida went into Phase 1 of the Reopen Plan. There are strict guidelines to follow. For updated procedures and changes, see the Universal website

CityWalk Opening Procedures:

  • Face covering required – available for purchase if you don’t have any with you
  • Temperature Checks prior to entry
  • Social distancing
  • Floor markings

 

Universal’s City Walk – June 5th

Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay are  open from June 5th. It will open first to Team Members, followed by invite-only, such as Passholders, and then open to the public on June 5th.

With stringent new health, safety and hygiene procedures in place, you’ll be able to enjoy most attractions in the parks.

Safety Procedures Include:

  • Limiting capacity and following social distancing guidelines throughout all attractions, restaurants and shops.
  • Increasing cleaning and disinfection procedures, and frequently cleaning all high-touch surfaces
  • Order meals on the go with Mobile Express Pick Up
  • Get a Virtual Line return time
  • Purchase tickets in the app and scan at the turnstile
  • Set up TapTu Pay at Volcano Bay

From June 5th, hours of operation will be:

  • Universal Studios: 9am – 6pm Daily
  • Islands of Adventure: 9am – 6pm Daily
  • Volcano Bay: 10am – 5pm Daily
  • CityWalk: 8am – 10pm Daily

SeaWorld Parks Opening Info:

SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, Aquatica and Busch Gardens Tampa will all be opening on June 11th.

  • Limited Capacity: Attendance will be limited to accommodate social distancing guidelines.
  • Face Coverings: All guests aged 2 or over will be required to wear face coverings at all times. Face coverings will not be required in the water or on rides at Aquatica.
  • Temperature Checks: All guests will be required to undergo temperatures at the entrance of all parks.
  • Limited Experiences: Any attraction or experience that does not enable social distancing measures will be limited or temporarily cancelled.
  • Physical Distancing: Guidelines for lines and attractions will be clearly displayed to enforce social distancing.

Gatorland

Gatorland is open daily from 10am to 5pm. There’s lots of fun to be had and plenty of animal interactions. And of course, gators!

Island H2O Water Park

Island H20 Water Park are currently operating on select days. Check their website for updates.

They will have strict operating procedures:

  • Open select days – check website
  • Limited Capacity
  • Social Distancing Measures
  • Wellness Checks
  • Clean, disinfect and sanitize on a continuous basis
  • Electronic payments encouraged

 

Kissimmee Old Town

Stores, restaurants and attractions are open at Kissimmee Old Town from noon through 9pm. The restaurants and stores are operating under safety procedures, with limited capacity and spacing.

For the time being, the Car Cruise and other entertainment aspects are still closed, but they hope to open them soon.

FunSpot America

Fun Spot Orlando is currently open from noon through 10pm. They are providing staggered seating on rides and attractions and are sanitizing after each guest. The Kissimmee branch will hopefully open soon.

Orlando Tree Trek

Exercise and social distancing sounds about perfect right now! Orlando Tree Trek will be distancing climbers and limiting capacity to keep everyone safely distanced. Face masks are recommended during initial training and whilst inside the welcome center.

LEGOLand Florida

LEGOLand is currently open with limited capacity to encourage social distancing and reduced hours. Advance ticket purchases are highly recommended.

What to Expect at LEGOLand:

  • Temperature Checks: All guests will be required to undergo temperature checks
  • Entry Limits: Access will be denied to guests who have traveled internationally or been on a cruise ship in the previous 14 days; Guests who have a cough, fever or signs of illness: Guests traveling from high COVID-19 areas.
  • Face Coverings: All guests are recommended to wear face masks, disposable masks will be available in the park.

Kennedy Space Center

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will reopen on May 28th and will be operating daily from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

  • Increased sanitization and disinfection
  • Cashless transactions

 

What You Need to Know:

As attendance is limited, you will be required to purchase a date and time specific ticket in advance for entry. You can purchase tickets online.
During the initial reopening phase, daily tickets will be $29.99 plus tax for adults and $24.99 plus tax for children.
Annual passholders must call the Reservations Department at 1 855 433 4210

International Drive Area Attractions

Although the Icon Wheel is currently closed until July 3rd, there are several restaurants and attractions open in Icon Park, along with the following attractions on International Drive:

Florida State Parks

All Florida State Parks are open for day use with limited capacity and some facilities and amenities will be closed. Advance ticket purchase is advised to avoid cash transactions.

Groups are limited to a maximum of 10 and social distancing space is required at all times.

Farmers Markets

Get some delicious fresh produce and support small businesses at the same time. Several Farmers Markets in Central are currently operating. Face masks recommended along with social distancing measures.

Harry P Leu Gardens

If you want to get a little peace and quiet and get back to nature, Harry P Leu Gardens is the perfect choice. This 50-acre botanical oasis is now open with free entry.

An entry fee will be applied from June 2nd.

Bok Tower Gardens

From May 26th to 31st, Bok Tower Gardens are inviting Members to be the first to visit. From June 1st, the gardens will be open to the general public with advanced timed reservations.

Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden, Pinewood Estate and the Visitor Center will all be closed.

Lakeridge Winery

Fancy a tipple to get over Coronavirus blues? Lakeridge Winery is open for wine tasting tours and the retails store is open too. And you can get curbside pick up if you call and place your order in advance.

Wild Florida Drive-thru Safari Park

Wild Safari are open for the Drive-Thru safari. It’s perfect for social distancing! The wildlife and safari park spans over 85 acres and is home to over 100 specials of wild and exotic animals.

You might see giraffes, zebra, eland antelope, scimitar oryx, American bison, mouflon sheep and lots more. And at the end, you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with giraffes on the elevated giraffe feeding platform.

Wild Florida does have limited capacity at the moment and they often sell out. Getting your tickets in advance is highly recommended.

Air boat tours are available from June 1st.

Central Florida Zoo

Central Florida Zoo is open and operating under limited capacity from 10am to 3pm. Group size is limited to a maximum of 10.

Dinosaur World

Interactive areas are closed, but you can still enjoy the museum and Dino walk. Until everything is back to normal, the entry fee is just $10 per person, plus tax. Social distancing and limited capacity are in operation.

On the Dino Walk you can meander along boardwalks and walk amongst the life size dinosaurs.

The Prehistoric Museum is an indoor area featuring fossils, animatronics and lots of educational fun.

Orlando Wall Crawl

Looking to jazz up your Instagram? Bored with photo’s at home? Orlando Wall Crawl is just for you. There’s a variety of insta-worthy interactive walls and a range of props where you can snap away. Over 20 walls, and they change seasonally.

Space is limited to a maximum of 10 per session, advance reservations are essential. You can see all requirements on their website.

Machine Gun America

Got some lockdown frustrations to unleash? Head to Machine Gun America and pretend you are shooting the Coronavirus.

MGA are open for business, with face masks required, from 10am to 5pm.

Epic Axe Throwing

If shooting guns isn’t your thing, perhaps a little axe throwing? Epic Axe Throwing is open from 5pm through 10pm. Operating at 50% capacity, a maximum of 10 per group will be allowed and groups will be separated by 6 feet. Face masks recommended and advanced reservations highly advised.
