Orlando in September is one of our favorite times to visit Central Florida. The humidity has dropped, the weather is still gloriously warm, it’s foodie heaven and it’s the start of Halloween season too.
Yep, like everything else, Halloween comes much earlier here in Central Florida. Halloween might not be until October 31st for the regular world, but in the most magical place on earth Halloween has been in full swing since Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party kicked off on August 25.

MAGICAL DINING MONTH
Orlando in September is the perfect time to visit for culinary fans. Magical Dining Month is an awesome month-long opportunity to dine at some of Central Florida’s premier restaurants at a fraction of the menu price.
For 38 days, over 100 restaurants will offer diners a 3 course gourmet dining experience for a fixed price of $35 per head.
Organized by VisitOrlando, a dollar of every meal is donated to Freedom Ride and BASE Camp Children’s Foundation.

MICKEYS NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY
Disney’s Magic Kingdom welcomed Halloween early with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that kicked off August 25th. Lots of fun for all ages, special parades, awesome fireworks and lots of trick or treats on select dates throughout late August, September, October and November 1st.

DISNEY ON ICE
Audiences will be a part of the magic of Disney as 5 Disney Heroines grace the ice with a spectacular show. Hosted by Mickey and Minnie, Dare To Dream features Moana in her first live performance, fighting to save her island. Belle befriends the Beast and Anna attempts to save her sister and prevent an eternal winter. Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and Cinderella battle together with Disney friends to make their dreams come true.

THE GREAT IRISH HOOLEY 2017
Spend Labor Day Weekend celebrating Irish style. Raglan Road at Disney Springs is home to this unique Irish Festival showcasing Irish music and dance. Great family entertainment for all ages with the best of Irish food and beverages.
32ND ANNUAL NKF RICH SALICK PRO-AM SURF FESTIVAL
The National Kidney Foundation of Florida Surf Festival is the largest charitable, world-class surfing competition that takes place annually in Cocoa Beach. Scheduled for Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-4, you can expect professional and amateur surfers competing, plus beach activities, entertainment, live music and giveaways.
NIGHT OF JOY
Orlando in September brings the popular annual contemporary Christian music festival, Night of Joy. Music spans multiple genres including rock, pop, alternative, folk and worship. The event is held at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports.
There will be 2 venues offering soulful sounds, hip hop, rock and adult contemporary music in both indoor and outdoor performances. On top of a mix of melodies, there will be food trucks, a family activities zone and a FanFest offering interactive entertainment. 15 guest artists will inspire the audience and provide an event to remember.
ROCK, RIDE AND REJOICE AT ROCK THE UNIVERSE
Orlando in September is a great month for Christian music fans. Universal Orlando also host their annual Christian music festival on the same weekend as Disney. Some tough decisions will have to be made by festival goers!
Enjoy soulful sounds and the chance to rock, ride and rejoice with an impressive host of guest artists. There will also be a Coca-Cola Fan Zone with more live music and a Candlelight Ceremony.
CORKS FOR CANCER
Live entertainment, wine, food and a great cause. What’s not to love? Lakeridge Winery in Clermont are hosts to this annual fund-raising event. Local artists and crafters will display their skills while you enjoy local music talent. You can also take a wine tasting tour while you’re there. A portion of the proceeds from wine sales for this festival will go to the Leesburg Regional Hospital Cancer Programs.

EPCOT INTERNATIONAL FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

Orlando in September is a horror fest at Universal Studios. Halloween Horror Nights are definitely not for the faint hearted and not really suitable for children.
The streets in the evenings transform into a monsters’ paradise ready to create heart pounding horrors.
34 select nights between September 15th and November 4th featuring Haunted Houses, Scare Zones and live shows.

HOWL-O-SCREAM AT BUSCH GARDENS
Continuing with adult Halloween events, Howl-O-Scream is Tampa Bay’s premier Halloween event. Select nights from September 22 through October 29, 2017 with tormenting surprises around every corner and unexpected scares.
Haunted Houses, Scare Zones and terrifying creatures patrolling the dark streets and alleys. Waiting to pounce on unwary travelers. And you! Escape will be nearly impossible, if at all. If that is not enough horror for one night, dare you take on Florida’s top thrill rides in the dark? Will the screams coming all night be coming from you?
THE HAUNT AT OLD TOWN
The 7th annual Haunt at Old Town will be held every Saturday and Sunday from September 22nd through October 21st. Haunted mazes and scare zones are just around every corner. You can’t stop to check, something may be behind you. Something so evil and sickening, it’ll turn your blood cold. Just before it gets sucked from your shivering corpse.

HAUNTED HISTORIC 5K
Two young friends are besieged by something terrible, something they can’t explain. The…. things aren’t dead and apparently can’t be killed. Not by a knife or even a gun. To escape, the friends must leave the protection of the ranch and run. Into what, they don’t know and daren’t even contemplate. Taking a deep breath, they throw open the door….
Are you a racer or a zombie?
Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce are hosting the annual Haunted Historic 5K. This family fun run is perfect for all ages to join in as a runner or a zombie. The 5K will feature 3 scare zones, complete with ‘professional’ zombies.
The PG13 event invites runners from 8 and up to come as zombies with their own make-up and costumes or get a makeover when you arrive. Make up artists will be present to turn registered runners into zombies. All zombie runners will receive a T-shirt and medal as well as water, Gatorade and granola bars.

RANCH RODEO & COWBOY HERITAGE FESTIVAL
Florida Ranch Rodeo And Cowboy Heritage Festival is a 2 day event that showcases the daily life of a working cattleman. The event showcases Ranch Rodeo Finals, Whip Popping Contest winners, colt riding, wild cow milking, working cow dog competition and a beef brisket cook-off.
