What to Pack for Orlando in June
Cottons, linens and natural fibers in light colors are best for hot days. Dark colors attract and hold sun rays. Loose fitting clothes will also help keep you cooler.
Have a poncho with you. They are a little cheaper in stores like WalMart than in the parks.
Misting fans will be a great comfort too.

Busch Gardens Summer Celebration
The thrill rides at Busch Gardens in Tampa are some of the best in Florida.
The “Screamathon” goes off the rails as you get strapped in to rides such as Tigris, SheiKra, Montu, Kumba, Falcon’s Fury and more in the Dark.
Summer Celebrations has themed party zones with exclusive summer food and drinks menu. Join in the dance parties or watch the Turn It Up! Ice Show.
All Summer Nights events are included in regular admission.

Sunset Walk Entertainment
The Promenade at Sunset Walk is one of our favorite hang-outs and is almost on your doorstep if you are staying in one of our vacation homes.
Located just off the US-192 at Margaritaville Orlando Resort, there’s a wide range of great eateries, a selection of stores, an escape game, movie theater, game center, sling shot and lots of live entertainment. Plus, weekly car & truck shows, artisan markets and regular events.
There’s ample free parking and free entry for everyone.

- Show Car Saturday Nights – 4-8pm – Every Saturday, vintage cars from 1987 or earlier line up to share the love for these classic beauties. There’s a live DJ and party atmosphere too, followed by live music.
- Teen Driver Car & Truck Show – June 15th 2024 – 3-8pm – Live music and 50/50 raffle.
- Sunset Saturday Artisan Market – from 6pm featuring local Craft and Specialty Vendors from across Central Florida.
- Sunday Car & Truck Show – June 16th 2024 – 11am to 2pm – Classic cars and trucks collectors from all eras showcase their vehicles. DJ Don pumps out classic rock music every second Sunday of each month.
- Sunday Latin Sunday – Estefan Kitchen, El Jefe Tequilas Taco Cantina and BR 77 Brazilian Steak House present Sunday-Latin-Sunday at 5pm every Sunday on the Promenade Plaza Stage with live DJs spinning salsa, Latin pop, merengue, bachata and more.

From June 1st through July 7th 2024, participating restaurants present an awesome culinary experience.

153rd Silver Spurs Rodeo
Celebrate Florida’s deep rooted rodeo history and experience the largest rodeo event east of the Mississippi. The famous Silver Spurs Rodeo consists of PRCA professionals competing in all seven rodeo events for prize money.
It’s a fun event for all the family. There’s bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling and women’s barrel racing. Young cowboys can take part in junior bull riding and barrel racing plus Muttin Bustin.
There’ll also be interval shows from the resident rodeo clown plus a performance from the Junior Silver Spurs Quadrille Team.
Tickets range from $15-$35 for assigned seating, depending on location, for each night or $20-$60 for both nights. Children 3 and under are free but must sit on a lap. Purchase online.

Summertoberfest at Krush Brau Park
Krush Brau Park (KBP) is hosting Summertoberfest. The event features all of the best and well-known German beers, food, and gifts. Also featured are some of Central Florida’s breweries beers. See the full menu for all details.
There will also be a keg tapping ceremony at 5pm plus several other contests including bier stein holding, yodeling, German limbo, German Schuplattler dance, best dressed Oktoberfest person and much more.

June 14th – New Additions at Universal Orlando
Hogwarts Always is a brand new projection show debuting on June 14th at Hogwarts Castle in Islands of Adventure. It replaces the Nigh-time Lights at Hogwarts Castle which ended May 3023. The new show will feature iconic moments of a school year at Hogwarts and will have 4 different endings to celebrate Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, along with pyrotechnics.
CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular: This nighttime show over Universal Studios Lagoon starts June 14th and will showcase blockbuster movies using 228 fountains that will reach heights up to 131 feet, 4K projection mapping and over 600 drones. It will feature iconic scenes from Jaws, Jurassic World, Harry Potter, Back the Future, Shrek, E.T. and more blockbuster movies that have shaped Universal Studios attractions past, present and future.
DreamWorks Land is opening on June 14th and features rides, interactive play areas, an indoor show and character meet and greets with characters from Shrek, Trolls and Kung Fu Panda.

FREE Summer Fun Days at Bok Tower Gardens
Bok Tower Gardens are offering Wawa Summer Fun Days with complimentary admission on the last Thursday and Friday of the month from May through September.
Pre-registration is essential to receive complimentary tickets. This complimentary offer is limited to four visitors per registration, and admission for the day is limited to assist with capacity issues. All members of the party visiting on Wawa Summer Fun Days will need to have a ticket to enter.

Rocket Launches at Kennedy Space Center
If you’ve never seen a rocket launch, it’s well worth the trip over to the Space Coast.
If you do plan on going to watch a rocket launch, keep in mind launches are very unpredictable. They can be cancelled hours or even minutes before launch. It’s best to plan a day at Kennedy Space Center at the same time. That way, it’s not a wasted day if the launch is cancelled.
