Islands of Adventure is home to several individually themed ‘islands’, each with its own selection of shops, attractions and eateries.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is without doubt the most popular, but there’s plenty to do everywhere else. Hogsmeade is the Harry Potter park at Islands of Adventure and we have a whole section on that. We won’t cover it again here, just click the link above to learn all about Harry.

Port of Entry

The main entrance to Islands of Adventure and home to a selection of stores, eateries, customer services and rental options. The area is themed around a Mediterranean market and is home to several stores including Islands of Adventure Trading Company, Ocean Trader Market and Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe .

Do stop to take a look around, the features and architecture is awesome!

Once you exit Port of Entry, you’ll be facing the Islands of Adventure lagoon which all the ‘Islands’ are located around.

So, do you take left towards Marvel Super Hero Island, or right towards Seuss Landing? If that’s your hardest decision of the day, you’re in for a great day!

Marvel Super Hero Island

You’ll step right into a comic book super charged with Superheroes at Marvel Super Hero Island

The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman is an action-packed high-def 3D ride with a fantastic finish.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster has an exhilarating power start. As you sit back in your coaster, you’ll speed off through slingshot gamma ray booster and reach speeds up to 67 miles an hour.

If you’re not afraid of heights, take a blast on Dr Doom’s Fearfall. Not only is it a great ride, it gives amazing views over Islands of Adventure and beyond 150 feet below.

Don’t forget your stomach as you plunge to the depths below.

You may even bump into one of your action hero’s riding a quad bike along the main street of Marvel Super Hero Island.

There’s a Superhero Parade several times a day where you can meet and greet your favorite hero. Times change, so check on the day.

Toon Lagoon

Toon Lagoon is the colorful land of the Sunday funnies.

It’s the place to be for those who want to show off the ever fashionable rain poncho.

There are plenty of “You will get soaked, so be warned” attractions to satisfy everyone.

Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is the fastest and most adventurous.

Don’t worry if you get too wet, there are human size dryers provided.

Kids will love playing on the interactive play area Me Ship, The Olive where they can use the free water cannons to give a soaking to the poor unsuspecting riders of the Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges.

There are winding pathways around Me Ship, The Olive. They are normally uncrowded  and offer some great unobstructed views of the park. Take a few minutes for those golden photo ops.

Shopping and dining are plentiful here too. Comic Strip Cafe, Blondie’s and Wimpy’s are quick service restaurants and Cathy’s Ice Cream sells exactly that.

For a little retail therapy, head to Toon Extra for souvenirs. Gasoline Alley has everything for a trip to the beach and Betty Boop Store for everything, well Betty.

Skull Island

Not quite an “island” in it’s own right, but the major attraction, Skull Island: Reign of King Kong is one of Universal Orlando’s latest creations. It opened to huge hype in the summer of 2016.Universal Rides - Skull Island

The elaborate ride is amazingly themed, from the stone exterior to the winding pathway that you walk as you ‘wait’ in line. There’s something to see along most of the way, so keep your camera at the ready. If you take the Express Line, you’ll miss a whole lot.

Apart from the Mess Tent food cart, there’s not a lot more to Skull Island. Kong and the prehistoric monsters take up all the room there is.

Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park is home to the the prowling predators that continues to thrill all ages.

VelociCoaster

The newst member of the pack. You’ll enter an immersive dinosaur habitat on a breathtaking adventure complete with 360-degree inversions and a dynamic inverted stall that alone spans more than 100 feet of track.

VelociCoaster is Florida’s fastest, tallest and most intense launch coaster ever created. It catapults you 155 feet into the air at extreme speeds up to 70 mph and you’ll plummet along a severe 80-degree drop and steep incline. And you’ll be racing alongside a ferocious Velociraptor pack.

Jurassic Park River Adventure is a water ride where you’re pretty much guaranteed to get soaked.

Sit at the back though and you might just get wet.

Camp Jurassic is a prehistoric exploration station on a massive scale with caves, an amber mine and of course the odd dinosaur or two.

Pteranodon Flyers is a sky ride. Bucking the trend, adults must be accompanied by a child. No child, no ride. The loading for this ride can be slow, resulting in long wait lines and, as the ride is only 80 seconds, consider that when deciding if you should wait or not.

Jurassic Park Discovery Center is a play center with lots of interaction. The top floor is home to The Burger Digs if you’re feeling hungry, or DinoStore if the shopper in you just has to be unleashed.

The rest of the building is dedicated to seeing, hearing and learning all about the dino’s so make sure you take time to explore the hidden treasures below.

The Lost Continent

Step into The Lost Continent and you’ll be surrounded by ancient myths, formidable Greek Gods and living legends.

Be sure to stop by the interactive Mystic Fountain. Younger guests (and adults) will thoroughly enjoy the experience as the fountain comes to life and jokes, talks and splashes audiences.

If you have a birthday in your group, be sure to let the Fountain know.

But all ages will be enthralled with the creatures and characters in this amazing Imagination Park bursting with color and vibrance.

The walkways, shops and rides will brighten up any day and put a smile on any tearful tot.

Even the palm trees are twisted and bent, you won’t see a single straight palm tree anywhere here.

The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride is a gentle rooftop tour giving a birds-eye view over Seuss Landing.

Caro-Seuss-el is an interactive merry-go-round where young riders can control the movement of the storybook characters like cow-fish and elephant-bird.

The Street of the Lifted Lorax is an explosion of color perfect for those photo memories.

You can dine at the bright and colorful Circus McGurkus. Or get some refreshing frozen juice at Moose Juice, Goose Juice. Thankfully neither moose or goose are in the list of ingredients.
