Driving Directions from Orlando Airport to Kissimmee
Most guests have GPS on their cell phones for driving directions from the airport to Kissimmee, but the GPS usually selects the fastest or shortest route. The route we post below is neither. It is slightly longer in distance and is also toll road, but the ease of the route is well worth the tolls to avoid congestion.
The I-4 interstate and Highway 192 can both be very busy at times. The 417 route also lets you see all the restaurants and stores in the area close to the house.
The toll route will cost around $5. The last toll you go through is unmanned and costs $1 and only accepts coins, so make sure you have change if you don’t have toll payment activated in your rental car.
So here we go, Driving Directions from Orlando Airport:
As you exit the car rental parking lot, you need to get over to the far right lane for the South Exit. It can be a little tricky getting across the lanes to the far side if the roads are busy. If by any chance you can’t safely get over, just carry on and follow the airport terminal signs to circuit around the airport. You’ll then have plenty of time to get over to the South exit lanes.
Continue along the South Access Road then follow the signs for Central Florida Greenway South 417 (SR-417). It is sign posted Walt Disney World.
Once you are actually on the 417 Toll Road, you can activate your GPS for easier navigation if you prefer.
Stay on the 417 for about 16 miles, to Exit 2, which is signposted for Celebration Ave to 192.
Once through the final toll, get into the right lane signposted To 192 and turn right.
Go straight across at the first traffic signal then get into the left lanes to turn left onto the US-192 Highway (also known as the Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) at the third traffic signal.
Stay on the US-192 highway. As you near our location, you’ll notice the area start to build up with restaurants and gift shops shaped like mermaids, wizards and animals!
You’ll see Mile Marker 5.
You’ll see CiCi Pizza and Golf which looks like a huge rock with waterfalls on your right.
Keep on the US-192 for another couple of miles. You’ll pass Olive Garden and Rolling Oaks on your left, Millers and Applebees on your right. Another few minutes you’ll see Orange Lake Country Club on your right, Walgreens on your left.
Through the next set of traffic signals (you’ll see Manny’s Chop House on the left), then some stores set back just before traffic signals. Turn right at that traffic signal – Vista del Lago is sign posted.
