Explore
Journey of Water

This interactive walkable attraction is a magnet for kids. Inspired by the Moana movie, there is fun and surprises at every turn. As you make your way along the exploration trail, you’ll find interactive water features in multiple forms. Plus, you have optional wet or dry routes, so you can take your pick.

All ages create tunes on the rain harps, dodge water jets, raise water shoots and make ocean waves. There are plenty of symbols and signs along the way to guide and instruct you.

Hunt for carvings in the rock formations of characters from the movie, such as Hei Hei, Pua and Moana.

Journey of Water

Te Fiti towers over everyone at 15 feet tall and is created from over 3000 pieces of foliage. It’s a beautiful lush landscaped trail and the perfect attraction at Epcot for kids of all ages and, of course, adults too.

As this is an interactive water experience, kids might get wet. It might be handy to have a change of clothes.

Kidcot FunStops

Every country in Epcot World Showcase has a Kidcot Fun Stop, which is an area set aside for kiddos to create a personalized Traveler Card souvenir. There’s a Ziploc® bag to keep the cards in.

Every traveler card has the country name, flag and capital city, plus there’s a blank space where Cast Members can add their personal touch. The reverse side has a relevant picture for coloring in. If you collect all 11 Traveler Cards, you’ll receive a bonus Mickey Mouse postcard.

Each station is staffed by a cultural representative from the respective country. Learn how to say hello in their language, or ask Cast Members to write your kids names in their language.

The Play Disney App is the perfect addition at Epcot for Kids. It has a variety of interactive games and puzzles that gives kids more to discover as they navigate around World Showcase at Epcot.

Disney Kidcot Puzzle Hunt

Kids can open up a section for each country and follow steps and photos to find the exact location of the Kidcot Fun Spot. Once they find it, they’ll be directed to a puzzle piece to photograph in the app. They can collect a puzzle piece at every Kidcot Fun Spot location along with a digital frame. The app also includes fun facts and trivia for each country.

Scrooge McDuck is traveling around Epcot World Showcase with his nephews and pals to hunt for 7 Lost Magic Treasures. He needs help to search for these priceless treasures and return them to their rightful owner.

As you wait in line to board your flight, you can team up with other passengers and see how good your knowledge is on culture, history and well known landmarks.

Epcot Festival
Scavenger Hunts

If you are visiting during any of the Epcot festivals, there is always a scavenger hunt where kids (and adults) can make their way around World Showcase at Epcot searching for clues.

You can purchase a map from several locations, then place stickers on the map when you find the relevant clues. Once you’ve found all the spots, you can claim a bonus prize. The scavenger hunt maps are generally less than $10.

  • Festival of the Arts – January-February: Figment’s Brush with the Masters
  • Flower & Garden Festival – March-May: Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration
  • Food & Wine Festival – July – November: Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak

Epcot for Kids:
World Showcase Passport

The World Showcase Passport is available fro $14.99 from several locations within Epcot and contains an official Epcot passport, multiple stickers and an Honorary Ambassador button. Explorers of all ages can interact with Cast Members at each location and place stickers in the passport.

The World Showcase Passport was re-launched in July 2023 but it can sell out. If this is something your kids would love doing, there are multiple options on Etsy and Amazon for similar passports that you can pre-purchase before you head to Disney World.

Fun Dining at Epcot
for Kids

If you are looking for some fun dining options, there are some great restaurants at Epcot for kids of all ages.

For an out-of-this-world dining experience, Space 220 is a space-themed restaurant located in a space station with panoramic views looking down on planet earth. It's a unique dining adventure that adds an extra layer of excitement for little space enthusiasts. In addition to the theming, the start of your 'journey' to the restaurant involves boarding an 'elevator' to reach the space station, which is floating 220 miles above Epcot.

Great restaurants at Epcot for kids

The Garden Grill in The Land pavilion is not only a rotating restaurant, but also offers character dining. Chip 'n Dale and a host of pals visit tables to interact with kids. Plus, Farmer Mickey.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway pavilion in World Showcase provides a princess-themed dining experience. This is perfect for your little royal princess or prince, where they'll encounter a host of princesses.

If your kids don't mind noise, Biergarten in the Germany pavilion in World Showcase is a blast! Lots of fun celebrating Oktoberfest all year round with the oompah beat of the lively Polka band. The buffet offerings include traditional German sausages, rotisserie chicken, sauerkraut, schnitzel and more.

San Angel Inn is set inside the Mexico Pavilion of World Showcase and offers terrific theming and a unique atmosphere. The backdrop is a mayan themed pyramid and volcano, complete with night skies. You'll also see boats from Gran Fiesta Tour passing by.

One of the highlights of any trip to Epcot with children is the chance to meet beloved Disney characters and there are plenty of options to meet characters in Epcot.

Play Areas for Kids
at Epcot

There are several playgrounds, play areas and play zones that are perfect for keeping kids occupied at Epcot. Plus a few places have seating areas where parents can relax while the kids burn up energy.

Bruce's Shark World

Located inside Sea Base in Epcot World Nature, there's a large Bruce the shark with a big toothy grin, where kids can get into and pose for photos, plus an interactive walk-through play area with fun educational info and quizzes from Nemo’s teacher, Mr. Ray.

Image Works 'What If' Lab

The Journey Into Imagination with Figment attraction, located in the Imagination Building in World Celebration, features a large interactive playzone. Lots of hands-on and multi-sensory activities to keep all ages occupied. It's indoors and air conditioned too, perfect for a break from the Florida sun or rain.

Green Landing Family Play Zone

Located in World Discovery right next to the Creations Shop, this spacious open air playground offers lots of climbing frames, swings and interactive hands-on activities. It also has seating and areas where families can take a break and relax while the kids play.
Please note: This location frequently changes names, but you'll easily spot it.

Space Base

This indoor play area located at Mission Space offers an assortment of space themed activities with plenty of tubes and climbing options plus digital games. It's air conditioned for a welcome break from the heat. You'll find it by heading into the gift shop to the right of Mission Space and then keeping right once you are inside the store.

Liquid Layers Splash Pad

Right in front of Mission Space is this water magnet where kids can play with low-level water shoots. Water shoes change of clothes might come in handy!

Spaceship Earth: Project Tomorrow

Located inside Spaceship Earth, this large play area offers plenty of interactive games and exhibits where all ages can join in. Learn how to power a whole city, build a body and avoid accidents on a driving simulator.
If you are not taking the Spaceship Earth ride, you can access the play area through the exit of the ride.

Explore the Underwater
World at SeaBase

Dive into the wonders of the underwater world at the two level SeaBase. It's the perfect attraction at Epcot for kids who love the ocean.

The highlight is the massive 5.7 million gallon aquarium that lets kids marvel at real-life marine life. Home to thousands of sea creatures, it's one of the largest man-made ocean habitats in the world. There are huge floor to ceiling viewing windows where you can watch turtles, dolphins, sharks, rays, manatees and more. Plus, feeding times with animal care experts.

SeaBase is also home to a couple of great attractions. The Seas with Nemo & Friends is an enchanting ride on a clamobile.

Turtle Talk with Crush: The interactive show is a must-see for all ages. Kids can engage in real-time conversations with Crush. He also throws in a little adult humor to keep the grown ups amused.

Disney & Pixar
Short Film Festival

Escape into the magical world of animated shorts at the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. This 18 minute cinematic treat for little viewers offers 3 short films that will captivate the attention of even the youngest viewers. It's also a perfect spot for a brief respite in cool air conditioned surroundings.
