After years of imagining, planning and developing Walt’s magical dream, Walt Disney World Resort officially opened to guests for the very first time on October 1st 1971. In honor of Disney’s 50th Anniversary, visitors will experience an 18 month long celebration. “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” will begin on October 1st 2021.

Disney’s 50th Anniversary celebrations will feature new experiences at all four Disney World parks. Shimmering EARidescent décor will appear as if by magic.

Shining at the center of it all will be Magic Kingdom’s icon, Cinderella Castle. The splendid castle has received a truly royal makeover recently. New features will include gold bunting, sparkling golden embellishments and a 50th anniversary crest.

 

Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom

Disney Enchantment is a brand new nighttime spectacular that will debut for Disney’s 50th Anniversary. This evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment.

 

Disney Enchantment will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks. Plus, for the first time ever, immersive projection effects will extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.


‘Harmonious’ Reimagines Disney Music at EPCOT

Harmonious at EPCOT is one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for any Disney park. This new show will bring the globe together at World Showcase Lagoon. It will be a celebration of inspiring Disney music.

 

It’s a grand, powerful tribute to the unifying power of story and song. The show will embrace new technical magic that incorporates pyrotechnics, fountains and lighting.

“Harmonious” will feature new interpretations of classic Disney songs. The songs will be reimagined in over a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world.

It will debut on Disney’s 50th Anniversary on October 1st 2o21.

 

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Grand Opening

The long awaited opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be opening for Disney’s 50th Anniversary on October 1st. At last, you will be able to experience the flavorful world of “Ratatouille.”

This family-friendly attraction will  shrink you to the size of Chef Remy as you scurry through Gusteau’s famous restaurant. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is located in a newly expanded area of the France pavilion. It’s a magical reimagining of Paris inspired by the film.

Also debuting October 1 in this section of the pavilion will be a delicious new restaurant. La Crêperie de Paris, will offer both table and quick-service options. The menu will feature sweet crepes, savory buckwheat galettes (naturally gluten friendly) and authentic French hard cider.

The attraction, restaurant and pavilion expansion are all part of the historic transformation of EPCOT currently underway. The redesign will bring a breadth of new experiences as a celebration of curiosity, discovery and the magic of possibility.

Beacons of Magic Shine at All 4 Parks for Disney’s 50th Anniversary

Icons at all four Disney World parks will transform into magnificent Beacons of Magic at night. Each park icon will come to life with their own EARidescent glow.

  • Cinderella Castle will illuminate Magic Kingdom with a dazzling radiance that sparkles with pixie dust.
  • Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom will have a warm light emanating as magical fireflies gather to usher in the magic of nature.
  • Hollywood Tower Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be awash in a brilliance evoking the golden age of imagination and adventure.
  • Spaceship Earth at EPCOT will have new lights shining across the reflective panels, connecting to one another in a symbol of optimism resembling stars in a nighttime sky. The iconic structure’s new lighting will continue beyond Disney’s 50th Anniversary as a defining feature of the park.

‘Disney KiteTails’ to Take Flight at Animal Kingdom

Disney KiteTails is a new daytime entertainment. The Discovery River Amphitheater will come alive several times a day as part of Disney’s 50th Anniversary.

Performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes. Out on the water there will be elaborate 3D kites flying, some stretching to 30 feet long. The kites will depict Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo and King Louie.

These colorful creations will dance through the sky to the beat of favorite Disney songs.

 

Golden ‘Disney Fab 50’ Sculptures to Celebrate Disney’s 50th Anniversary

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale are part of a new collection of special golden character sculptures. The shimmering statues will be unveiled for Disney’s 50th Anniversary across 4 Disney World parks.

There will be 50 characters featured overall. Plus, you’ll be able to interact with the “Disney Fab 50” as part of the 50thanniversary celebration.

 

The Gang Get New Party Outfits for Disney’s 50th Anniversary!

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale will be dressed in sparkling new outfits. Dazzling custom-made costumes have been specially designed for Disney’s 50th Anniversary.

Highlights of these celebratory designs include beautifully embroidered impressions of Cinderella Castle. The design is also backed by fireworks. Plus a brocade in multi-toned, EARidescent fabric. All punctuated with pops of gold.

Mickey and Minnie will be the hosts of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”. Cast members at the heart of the event will be wearing new EARidescent nametags designed for the 50th anniversary. Disney’s amazing Cast Members will demonstrate yet again why they are renowned for their commitment to service.
