Best Friends Pet Care is a luxury pet resort close to our vacation homes. Roughly 15-20 minutes away. You can leave your pets there for a few hours, or overnight.
A Tail-Wagging Welcome: Pluto welcomes dogs, cats, pot-bellied pigs and pocket pets such as hamsters and guinea pigs to Best Friends Pet Care.
The one-of-a-kind pet resort offers 17,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space, 10,000 square feet of covered outdoor runs and play areas, and a 25,000-square-foot dog park exclusively for the use of Best Friends clients and their pets.
The facility is able to accommodate as many as 300 pets. Dog owners can choose from a variety of accommodations, ranging from a standard 32-square-foot all-indoor suite, to an expansive 226-square-foot VIP (Very Important Pet) suite. The suite comes with television, raised bedding and private outdoor yard.
Cats Are Welcome Too at Best Friends Pet Care
Feline guests will spend their visit in the separate “Kitty City” pavilion – away from the dogs – in two- and four-room condos. There also is a special area for the boarding of pocket pets, small mammals and birds.

Cockatoos and other pet birds stay in their own special facility along with hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets and other pocket pets.
Day Trip or Sleep Over
Guests can book their pets into the resort just for the day. Overnight stays make Fido feel right at home.
The resort’s exclusive dog park is the place to burn off canine calories. Inside a fenced walking trail, dogs will have a squirrel-chasing good time in the 3,300-square-foot play area covered in artificial turf. Another 4,500-square-foot area is dotted with shade trees for owners who want to sit and watch pets play. The park’s 1,300-square-foot splash-and-shake zone is a cool extra. There’s a walking trail overlooking natural wetlands and several large areas of varying terrain for running and playing, including a 1,300-square-foot “canines only” splash-play-and-shake water feature. There also are sitting areas where owners can relax and watch their dogs play. The entire park is secure from outsiders and is available for use after dark.
Tales and Treats
Pet parents can choose from a wide range of a la carte activities for pet guests from one-on-one playtimes and social playgroup with other doggy guests, to cuddle time and bedtime stories with staff. Additional amenities and upgrades include ice cream treats, bottled water and premium orthopedic bedding. Feline guests can also enjoy private playtimes, activity toys in their suites, and treats such as “Cookies and Milk” or “Tuna on a Ritz.”
It’s a pet’s world, after all, and that’s why pet parents can choose from among many a la carte activities for their best friends. Amenities and upgrades include: Ice Cream Treats, Puppy Cuddle Time, Bottled Water and Premium/Orthopedic Bedding for dogs. Feline guests can be pampered with private playtimes, activity toys in their suites, or Ice Cream Treats.
Practical pets know that extra cuddles are in store when they greet their families after a “go-home-fresh bath,” offered along with other services at the resort’s grooming salon.
