Webster Flea & Farmers Market

Webster Flea & Farmers Market

Split into two parts, Webster Westside and Sumter County Farmers Market are each a paradise for visitors who love a good old rummage.

Webster Flea & Farmers Market is located about an hours drive from our Orlando vacation homes. The scenic route will take you along back roads through some beautiful rural locations untouched by tourism and time.

Webster Westside Market

Webster Westside Market is one part of the Webster Flea & Farmers Market.

Westside sits on 35 acres and is home to up to 1500 vendors. Winters are far busier as many Northern traders head south for the warmer winter months.

In the hot summer months, hours are shorter and vendors fewer.

Webster Westside Market is held every Monday, rain or shine, from 5am/6am till mid afternoon, depending on the time of year and the weather.

There’s a plethora of stalls offering thousands of chotchkies displayed alongside quality collectibles and antiques.

Row after row of buyers and sellers haggle good-naturedly. All part of the fun as buyers try to get a few dollars clipped off the asking price.

From pumpkins to puppies, guns and golf clubs, books and bows, you’ll find almost everything here.

Bargain hunters and flea market flippers will be enthralled.

A large portion of the stalls are outdoors, so you can stroll around and enjoy the Florida sunshine while you browse and barter. If it gets a little hot, there are plenty under cover too, perfect for some welcome shade.

Two restaurants and numerous snack vendors are also available and an ATM in case your bulging wallet when you left your home gets woefully thin.

Roasted peanuts, kettle corn, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, donuts and candy are just a few of the tasty bites on offer. And of course an ice-cold beer or milkshake.

There’s plenty of hand crafted stalls offering unique carvings, shabby chic reconditions and hand stitched soft furnishings.

There’s a great selection of fresh produce too. Stock up on local oranges and farm fresh sweetcorn, tomatoes, fruit and veggies.

Sumter County Farmers Market

The other half of the Webster Flea & Farmers Market is Sumter County Farmers Market, originally set up in 1935 by local farmers to sell their home-grown produce.

This section offers 40 acres of covered stalls and 2000 vendors selling crafts, jewelry, clothing, pets, sunglasses and leather goods to name just a few. Oh, and plenty of those “Only Seen on TV, but wait, if you buy it now, we will double the offer” items.

There’s also an indoor antiques mall with 60 stalls offering quality collectibles and plenty of junk to hunt through.

For fresh produce, head over to the Vegetable Building. It’s the local farmers all those years ago that started the local trend. Today those same farm families still offer a wide range of fresh produce.

If you’re feeling hunger pangs, pop into the Farmers Market Restaurant for a country-style buffet serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There might be a wait for the Farmers Market Restaurant, but there’s a shaded porch with rocking chairs, so take a seat, sit back and watch the world go by.
