Although with icons of cloud and rain, if you looked at the weather forecast for Orlando in July, you might be tempted to give it a miss. Don’t be fooled.
So what are the average temperatures in Orlando in July?
Pretty hot! With highs hitting over 90 degrees and humidity at almost full pelt, Orlando in July isn’t for the faint hearted. Although it is hot and humid and subject to daily afternoon thunderstorms, normally the showers come and go in less than an hour or so. The theme parks quickly dry out as the sun once again replaces dark scudding clouds. And there’s always plenty of things to do in the rain.
What to pack for July in Orlando
A poncho and patience will be your best friend during July in Orlando. There’s no getting away from the fact that the parks will be busy, especially for July 4th so pack an extra dose of patience too. Dress very light, in light colors. And make sure you lash on the sun block, the rays will be fierce.
So throw a plastic poncho into your suitcase and come on down to Central Florida for a vacation of a lifetime.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Daytona Coke Zero 400 at Daytona Beach is excitement personified. The incredible, deafening noise and smell from the cars means only one thing. It’s race time. Watch in awe and admiration as drivers pit their wits and skills against some of the best Nascar competitors in the world as they hurtle around the track.
And it’s all done under floodlights!
The 400 mile Sprint Cup race takes place on Independence Day, a time for celebration with the family and friends in the racing fraternity. A free park and ride is available.
Country singer, Tyler Farr, will provide the pre-race entertainment.
Summer Music Series at Lakeridge Winery
The beautiful countryside of Clermont plays host to the Summer Music Series. This event occurs every Saturday afternoon from 1pm – 4pm at the Lakeridge Winery.
Take your pick – top local bands and solo artists performing for your entertainment. The bands are on the outdoor stage and the solo artists can be seen at the Wine and Cheese Bar in the winery. What’s not to like?
Lakeridge wine, beer , soft drinks and a variety of snacks are available for purchase.
Why not make your afternoon complete with a complimentary Winery tour and tasting?
Or you could test your throwing arm in a Corn Hole Tournament with prizes from the winery. Local charities also benefit from your exertions so it’s a win-win situation. Even if you lose!
Winter Haven Rock N’ Freedom Fest
If you want to hang out with the locals for celebrations, this will be perfect for you. Winter Haven hosts its’ annual independence day celebrations. This is a fun for all the family event. For munches there will be food trucks and a water-ski show by the Cypress Gardens Waterski Team at 7.30pm. The icing on the cake is a finale of exploding fireworks which will light up the night sky at 9.15pm.
Dunedin Orange Festival
One of our favorite locations is the fabulous town of Dunedin on the Gulf Coast. It has everything. A beautiful beach at Honeymoon Island only reached by boat, miles of cycle paths, a delightful marina and once a year, the Dunedin Orange Festival.
Entertainment comes with live music, a craft beer contest and food supplied by vendors to soak it all up. A ton of fun for all ages includes a new waterslide and a Pinup Girl Contest.
The events start at 10am with the Fun Zone and progress throughout the day till 10pm. A full schedule can be found on their website. Give it a try and discover why we like it so much.
If you don’t have youngsters who need to get home, the Orange Fest After Dark has live music, beers and wine to wet the palate, local food vendors and the spectacular sunset over the Marina.
