Now Snowing in Celebration 2023 – Fun Packed Holiday Events

2023-12-04T15:31:14-05:00

If you’re visiting Orlando for the Holidays, a white Christmas is probably the last thing on your mind. But the Town of Celebration would never let a little bit of tropical heat get in the way of the Now Snowing Celebration. So grab your trusty winter flip flops and head to Celebration for a snowy experience you won’t find anywhere else!

Now Snowing is Central Florida’s original and premier ‘Snowing’ event and has been snowing on locals and visitors alike for 25 years.

Now Snowing runs nightly from November 25th through December 31st 2023.

During the Now Snowing in Celebration event, there’s ice skating, horse-drawn carriage rides, Charles Dickens style strolling carolers, train rides, visits with Santa and more. The Now Snowing Celebration is fun for families and kids of all ages.

And, of course, the snow falls nightly, including Christmas Day. It’s free entry and free parking too.

Celebration, the town that Disney built, is a vintage throwback to traditional America. It’s one of our favorite local towns and is even more magical during the Holidays.

What Time Does the Snow Fall in Celebration?

The snow falls at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00pm every night from November 25th to December 31st 2023.

The snowfall is dependent on the weather. Snow can’t operate after heavy rain or if temperatures fall below 34F.

So What is this ‘Snow’ Stuff Made of?

Well, it’s affectionately called Snoap. But it’s really not soap, it’s a non-toxic, biodegradable product just like they use in the movies. Snow doesn’t fall during heavy rainfall or if temperature reach below 34F.

It might be worth taking a change of clothes for the kids. The snow is wet and there will be no keeping them from playing in it!

Where Does Now Snowing in Celebration Take Place?

Market Street is where most of the Now Snowing action takes place, which means it’s closed to traffic during the event. Market Street is where the snow falls.

Front Street is the location of the horse and carriage rides and the Celebration Express Train, which means parts of Front Street around the lake is also closed to traffic.

What kind of parking is available for handicap persons ?

    • Orlando Insider Vacations December 29, 2022 at 7:58 pm - Reply

I am not too sure about accessible parking in Celebration during the Now Snowing event. There are on-street parking spots all around the central town area and parking lots as shown on the map above, but the immediate downtown area is blocked off for all vehicles.
You could call Bohemian Hotel Celebration – they do have accessible parking and I seem to recall they used to offer parking to non residents for a fee, it’s worth calling to check if they do. Their number is +1 (407) 566-6000.
      Hope that helps 🙂

Great night with son and granddaughter. Sad moment is that I lost a clear credit card holder with cash, ID, credit card. Praying someone will turn it in or just mail to me.

I know this was asked last Dec, but just wondering if the shops are open this Christmas Eve. We are staying on Celebration and look forward to the “snoap” and food!

Are the shops op Christmas Eve?

    • Orlando Insider Vacations December 21, 2020 at 6:40 am - Reply

As far as I am aware, the shops will still be open on Christmas Eve. You could call which ever shop you wanted to visit just to check though.

This was a waste of time this year. They advocate social distancing but put only 2 snow machines out, in the most narrow part of the street. The entire crowd of people were huddled between the sidewalk and the giant (yet pretty) Christmas tree for less than 5 minutes of snow. Totally not worth the effort or promoting social distancing.

That’s such a shame it wasn’t great for you Steve, it’s normally such a magical event. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hello! Question about this “snoap”, although this is used outdoors, what, if any is the clean up process?
    Thank you!

    • Orlando Insider Vacations November 4, 2020 at 3:30 pm - Reply

I’m actually not sure! I imagine most of it dissolves and then perhaps they hose down when everyone leaves? But I’m guessing!

I hear that it snows bubbles, instead of snow. Is that true? Thank you.

    • Orlando Insider Vacations October 31, 2018 at 3:25 pm - Reply

      Hi Annie,
No, it’s not snow, it’s called snoap, which is a non-toxic biodegradable product as used in movies.

It’s still great fun though and it means you can enjoy a snow effect in hot weather 🙂

      Hi Anthony,
They haven’t released details of the events this year as yet, but it’s usually pretty similar each year. We’ll update for the 2018 events as soon as we get any details. Let me know if you want to know about anything specific.
